Corn vs. Wart - How to tell the difference!

Warts and corns are very often mistaken for each other.

So, what are the differences and what causes them. Warts (Verruca) are a viral infection where corns (Heloma Durum) are seeds of hard skin that are caused by a point of constant pressure.

Warts more often affect children but can affect individuals of any age, where corns more commonly affect older individuals that have minor to major foot deformities.

Look for things:

1. Skin lines will not travel across a wart, where as skin lines run straight through corns.

2. Larger warts will hurt when squeezed, whereas corns will hurt when pressed on from the top.

3. The centre of warts will have a cauliflower like appearance, whereas corns will be a core of translucent hard skin.
