At Sky Podiatry we have the equipment and skills to create instant custom orthotics between two to three days.

Custom orthotics are uniquely designed innersoles for your shoes that can assist with the treatment of flat or high arched feet, plantar fasciitis, back, knee, and bunion pain. Following a biomechanical assessment using top end pressure plate technology, we are able to take a scan of your feet and create instant custom orthotics.

How do instant custom orthotics work?

Once you receive your instant custom orthotics within two to three days after your appointment, you will now have the resources to reduce the internal and external forces which are causing specific parts of your foot discomfort and pain. Ultimately, orthotics is also used to treat injury and reduce foot pain.

Ground Reaction Force

Orthotics adjust the pressure coming from the ground to the foot when you stand, walk, or run. By altering these forces through your foot we can help you achieve better foot function, and reduce any forces that result in injury.

Instant Custom Orthotics Design

Depending on where the pain in your foot is located, the design of the orthotic may vary as specific features can change location, magnitude and timing of force acting upon the foot.

What shoes can I put my custom orthotics in?

Wearing proper orthotic-friendly shoes can help improve function of your orthotics. Having the right shoes allow you to avoid any potential issues such as fit. Thankfully, orthotic friendly shoes have become a lot nicer in the last few years, removing the worry about wearing styles that you don’t like.

Your shoes should have the following features:

● An enclosed heel with firm heel counter

● A firm midsole

● A wide midsole

● A removable footbed

● Enough depth and width for your feet

● Minimal heel height
