During the initial consultation a baseline biomechanical assessment is often required to gain further insight into your specific needs.

The baseline biomechanical assessment includes:

· Clinical Examination

· Footwear Assessment and recommendation

· Assessment of Muscle Strength and Joint Range of Motion

· Stance and Gait Assessment

· Video Gait Analysis and a Pressure Plate Study to analyse your pressure distribution while standing and walking

· Education and a tailored treatment plan to your needs

Your podiatrist will utilise a 3D digital scan of your feet from which we prescribe and manufacture orthotics to fit perfectly to your feet.

Your podiatrist may recommend a custom orthotic as part of your tailored treatment plan. Our custom orthotics are individually designed custom innersoles for your shoes. We manufacture our custom orthotics through our Lab Twenty-Six, located at our Mowbray clinic.

Shockwave therapy is an adjunctive therapy and is recommended for chronic soft tissue injuries, particularly for patients that have not responded to typical conservative treatment, such as strength and conditioning, supportive footwear, and orthotics for example.

It is important to mention that shockwave therapy for plantar fasciitis, and other chronic issues should only be performed with additional treatments. At Sky Podiatry, we offer shockwave therapy as a value adding service to help reduce pain immediately and increase the rate of tissue repair.

Orthotic review consultations play a crucial role in optimising the performance of your custom orthotics. Tailored to individual needs, these consultations ensure that your orthotics are finely tuned to perfection.

While some patients require one review every 12 months, those with more intricate requirements may benefit from additional consultations to achieve optimal results.
