The method used by your podiatrist is performed under local anaesthesia and is called a partial nail avulsion (PNA) where only the offending nail portion is removed or total nail avulsion (TNA) where the whole nail is removed. This procedure is known to be very safe and effective with a 95-97% success rate. If the offending toenail regrows, we will redo the procedure free of charge.
